Introducing the Thrive Schools Program
Because a zip code should not define a child's access to quality education...
Join Us In This Visionary Effort
Arik and Melinda Armstead founded the Armstead Academic Project (AAP) in 2019 because they believed that every child, regardless of socioeconomic status, deserves the conditions to truly thrive.
Over the years, AAP has supported thousands of students through literacy supports, career exposure, wellness programming, and youth enrichment experiences. Through this work, one thing has become increasingly clear: students thrive when they are surrounded by environments that support confidence, belonging, stability, and possibility.
That belief led to the launch of Thrive Schools in March 2026.
Inspired by the idea of “Blue Zones” — communities intentionally designed to support wellbeing and long-term success — Thrive Schools works to help create school communities where students feel connected, supported, and empowered both inside and outside the classroom.
Through long-term partnerships with schools in underserved communities across California and Florida, Thrive Schools invests in school culture, student wellbeing, enrichment opportunities, family engagement, and campus experiences that help students flourish.
Every school community has different needs, but together, we can help expand access to the resources, experiences, and opportunities that support student success.
Your support helps:
- Enhance learning environments and student experiences
- Support wellness, belonging, and school culture initiatives
- Expand enrichment and educational opportunities
- Provide resources that support students and families
- Create experiences that inspire confidence, joy, and possibility
Together, we can help build school communities where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
